What to Do on St. Patrick’s Day

Mar 17, 2015 | Personal Finance

St. Patrick’s Day is known as the holiday where millions of Americans and people all around the world break out their best leprechaun outfits and clink their beer mugs together in commemoration of what is widely perceived as true Irish culture.

Hate to be a kill joy, but everything you know about St. Patrick’s Day is completely wrong. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun. Here are some ideas for what you can do on St. Patrick’s Day:

Go to an Irish Pub

Research and find a local Irish Pub in your neck of the woods! More than likely there will be some kind of St. Paddy’s (Don’t. Ever. Say. St. Patty’s) celebration going on.

Attend a St. Patrick’s Day Parade

People are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all around the world. So—check your local city to find out if a parade will take place. You can go out and mingle with the crowd or you can go with a friend to enjoy the festivities. Either way, you are bound to have a good time meeting new people.

Throw a party/potluck

If you don’t like being around large crowds, try this option—throw a St. Patrick’s Day party. That way you can stay in the comfort of your own home and be around your close friends and family.

Learn about Irish culture

Read about St. Patrick’s Day and learn about Irish culture. You can never be armed with too much knowledge.
