Please be aware that fraudsters and scammers try to impersonate many organizations you do business with; and could try to imitate Minute Loan Center, as well.

Be aware the scammers can spoof phone numbers, send fake emails or use spoofed web pages. Knowing how to tell them from real communications is very important.

In the event that you are contacted by one of these illegal organizations or individuals – or think you may have been contacted by them – do not share any of your personal or sensitive information; hang up, and call Minute Loan Center directly.

Security Tip: How to Tell if a Phone Call is Spoofed

Unidentified groups pretend to be from an organization you do business with.
A robocaller says the name of one service, such as “Discover”, then when you get a live person, they use a generic term like “card services” and list multiple companies like “Visa, Mastercard, Discover.” None of these companies work together and we certainly don’t work with anyone outside of our family of brands.
The caller does not know your name until you give it to them. (When Minute Loan Center calls you, we know who you are.)
The caller is overly aggressive or rude.
The caller has a strong, foreign accent.
The call comes from “no caller id” or a short set of numbers not long enough to be a phone number.
The caller refuses to provide you with information about the alleged debt or account.
The caller creates an urgent scenario to pay right now, often using instruments that are not typical, such as gift cards or iTunes cards.

Security Tip: How to Tell if a Text or Email is Spoofed

The email does include the domains: (Note, our request for reviews for TrustPilot does come from Outlook.)
If you click on the sender name in the “FROM” line, the email shows an address that is not from one of our domains and instead the email comes from a personal email account, like Hotmail or Gmail.
There are threats to confiscate ALL of your wages.
The email contains information that does not match your information from your account.
The message threatens legal or criminal action.
The message threatens to to email or FAX data to your references or employer.

Security Tip: How to Recognize Spoofed Web Pages

It’s rare to find spoofed pages, but they are out there. Some companies pretend to be a brand they are not. When you click on a button to get a loan, you are sent to a different company, often one who is not a state licensed direct lender and not recognized by the Online Lenders Association (OLA). Their intent is usually to sell your data. More Security Tips: The main ways to recognize a spoofed page is:

1.) Always check the URL

If you click a button and it doesn’t look like Minute Loan Center or have minuteloancenter.com in the URL, do not enter your– log in information or create an account there.
