Shopping The Biggest and Best Black Friday Deals of 2021 (So Far)

You’ve probably noticed several brick-and-mortar stores are already offering Black Friday deals early. What you may not know is why this is happening.

Pandemic and Supply Chain Issues

Some shelves are already empty and retailers just don’t know when — or if — they’ll get in more merchandise. As a result, you’re probably also seeing higher prices.

Supplies of raw material and component parts — electronic chips, rubber, aluminum — are in short supply. There’s also the bottleneck in shipping harbors leavings ships waiting at sea. So much so, even when the goods are finally unloaded, a shortage of truck drivers adds further delays to getting the merchandise to market.

Even overseas shipping costs as much as five times more. So, expect to see some of that passed on to you, the consumer.

Meanwhile, even though Black Friday isn’t here just yet, you can still shop some of the best deals of the holiday season, both in-store and online. But if you’re shopping online, check where your purchase is shipping from and order early. Quite a few Black Friday sales are already available online, with more to follow.

Amazon
