The NFL Super Bowl will be upon us very soon, which also means you have to plan to either accommodate yourself, your family, and/or friends.
If you stay at home and enjoy the Big Game alone, well – shopping for items will be a breeze, because it’s just you. However, if you’re planning on hosting a Super Bowl soirée at your house for family and friends, then you definitely need a plan. Because we all know how shopping at the last minute ends: disaster! You just end up overspending and stressing yourself out, and we don’t want that to happen, right? Right!
Here are a few ways you can kick the ball through the goal post by throwing an equally awesome, yet frugal party!
Veggie Trays
Buying veggie trays always comes in handy for Super Bowl Sunday. It will cost you anywhere from $10 to $15 for one tray depending on size. You can opt for celery sticks and ranch dressing for $5. Although you won’t have all the veggie options that are offered in the veggie tray, celery sticks will certainly help cool you down from those hot, spicy game day wings! Thank us later. 😉
Chips and Dip
If you are shopping at the last minute like the rest of the country, grab some party-size Tostitos chips and dip (Total cost: $7) and call it a day. But, if you want to make homemade dip, try this easy guacamole recipe for size. If there are ingredients you don’t care for, swap them out with your own. It’s your party, and you can guac how you want to!
Wings, Wings, and More Wings!
While wing trays can cost $25 and up, you can make them at home yourself and save a few dollars. Head over to your local grocery store, and pick up a bag of wings. It can cost anywhere from $8 to $12.
Potluck it Out
If all else fails, you can always host the party at your house and have everyone bring an appetizer or chip in for pizza. Parties can be costly, and who says you have to do it alone? There’s no shame in getting help from your friends and family. After all, the game isn’t a game without some good snacks and the ones you love.
